The eyes — a window to the world

This year autumn is a delight not only for its wonderful weather but also for its unrepeatable colours. To enjoy the beauty of nature and everything around us for as long as possible, we must protect our eyes carefully. For matters of vision, eye diseases and their treatment, you should consult ophthalmologists. Come for a consultation with AND klinika's new doctor – ophthalmologist Ramutė Vaičaitienė. How does modern life affect our eyes? These days our life is inseparable from modern technology. Computer and phone screens have become daily companions, and this, without doubt, tires the eyes. For this reason it's essential to take a 10-minute break roughly every hour and to exercise the eyes: look into the distance, to the sides, roll your eyes and spend a little time with them closed. People doing intensive visual work are also advised to use moisturising drops. How to strengthen the eyes?

  • Eat a full diet. Vegetables and fish oil help most to strengthen the eyes and improve vision.
  • Exercise and rest your eyes.
  • Sleep no less than 8 hours.
  • Give up harmful food.
  • Have your eyes checked for prevention. From the age of 35 the risk of glaucoma increases, so it's recommended to have both your eyes checked and your eye pressure measured.
