Dental prosthetics is one of the most frequently requested services. Prosthetics is unavoidable after tooth loss, when a tooth is severely damaged by caries, worn down or damaged by trauma and can no longer be restored by filling.
Prosthodontics specialists restore single teeth, several teeth or all teeth with dentures. The special ceramic used for prosthetics is close in both its physical and aesthetic properties to healthy tooth tissue, so it looks aesthetically pleasing.
AND klinika offers dental prosthetics with fixed and removable dentures.
Fixed:
A dental bridge is used when one or more teeth are missing. Its purpose is to stabilise the bite and prevent teeth from tilting (in the place of the missing tooth, the adjacent teeth begin to lean into the empty space). The bridge is supported by the teeth on both sides of the missing tooth.
IMPORTANT: the teeth to be crowned must be periodontally healthy, and their canals must be very well treated. Before making permanent prostheses, the doctor makes sure of the quality of tooth preparation and discusses the situation with the patient.
Removable:
Large-scale defects in the dental rows, usually after the loss of 3 or more teeth, are difficult or sometimes impossible to restore with bridge prostheses. If, for certain reasons, restoring dental-row defects with implants is also not possible and tooth restoration is needed to improve chewing function, removable dentures are planned. These can be partial (when some teeth remain), full (when there are no teeth at all) or overdentures (when the base rests on a tooth root or implant left beneath it). Patients should know that there are many modifications of removable dentures, and that removable dentures restore chewing function less effectively and require more intensive personal and professional care. They are most often used because of lower treatment costs, when the prognosis of the teeth is unclear, or as a temporary solution.
