On 27 August 2024, the Administration of Vilnius City Municipality signed a contract for project No. 09-022-P-0048 “Modernisation of the infrastructure needed to provide healthcare services at Antakalnis Health Centre”, co-financed from European Union structural funds. The project promoter is the Administration of Vilnius City Municipality, and the administering institution is the Central Project Management Agency.

The project is allocated funding under the 2021–2027 European Union funds development programme progress measure No. 11-002-02-11-01 “Improving the quality and accessibility of healthcare services”, from 2021–2027 European Union funds and the state budget of the Republic of Lithuania.

The project budget sets the maximum possible amount of eligible costs at EUR 2,087,251.51, of which: European Union funds – EUR 1,043,625.76, co-financing funds – EUR 1,043,625.75.

The aim of the project is to increase the quality and accessibility of the healthcare services provided within Antakalnis Health Centre for the residents of Vilnius City Municipality.

The main problem addressed by implementing the project is insufficient accessibility of healthcare services and a lack of quality equipment and premises adapted for developing services.

 

Activities planned in the project:

  • Modernisation of the infrastructure needed to provide primary outpatient personal healthcare services at Antakalnis Health Centre. Medical and other equipment will be acquired, and renovation of the premises carried out. 
  • Modernisation of the infrastructure needed to provide secondary-level outpatient specialised personal healthcare, outpatient surgery and day surgery services at Antakalnis Health Centre. Medical and other equipment will be acquired.

 

Project partners: Antakalnis Polyclinic (public institution), UAB “Ortoplius”, UAB “Affidea Lietuva”, “I. Kelbauskienė Family Clinic” (public institution), UAB “Baltic-American Therapy and Surgery Clinic”, UAB “Trinapolis Family Clinic”, UAB “AND KLINIKA”.

The project's target group: residents of Vilnius City Municipality, healthcare specialists and other specialists working in the healthcare field.

Planned results: Implementing the project will modernise the infrastructure for the family medicine, primary dentistry, secondary-level outpatient cardiology, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, obstetrics and gynaecology, radiology (X-ray diagnostics), physical medicine and rehabilitation, outpatient surgery and day surgery services assigned to the health centre. It's hoped that the additionally created and/or improved healthcare-service infrastructure meeting legal requirements, assigned to the health centre, will be used by more than 120,000 patients registered at the institutions cooperating within Antakalnis Health Centre.

The planned end of the project activities is 31 August 2026.
