Take care of your skin during the cold season

The health and beauty of the skin require constant effort. As the cold season approaches, we face ever-different challenges. Wind and temperature differences dry the skin and weaken the nails and hair. In summer we relax more, care for our skin less intensively, and the sun we get in summer doesn't affect our skin very positively – it dries it, damages the skin's immune system, and UV rays penetrate right down to every skin cell. This changes collagen synthesis and the condition of the blood vessels. In autumn women most often complain of dried-out skin, increased wrinkling, enlarged pores and pigment spots. It's important to find a balance between outside and inside, i.e. the body needs many specific substances: unsaturated fatty acids, hyaluronic acid and micro-elements that support the working of the skin's immune system. The most important things to remember are:

  • Choose products suited to autumn. You mustn't make the mistake of choosing the same care products you use in summer. In autumn you should choose products that nourish our skin. Choose a cream suited to your skin type, and as the weather cools it's better to choose a richer, nourishing cream.
  • The right food. The most beneficial for the skin are apples and grapes, since they contain an abundance of useful substances. Apples are rich in calcium, magnesium, iron and vitamins C, E and B. And grapes contain up to 150 different substances our skin needs, such as iron.
  • Let's protect the skin. If you start going to tanning salons in autumn, you must regularly exfoliate and moisturise the skin, and also protect it properly from the cold, wind and so on.
