Eyes drying out? Rest them!
Every day we work intensively at computers, phones and books. We also often spend even our leisure time in front of screens or the pages of a book. A heavy load causes eye fatigue and related ailments, such as watering, dryness and worsened vision. So it's very important to care for your vision properly. Tired eye syndrome most often arises from immoderate use of the computer and phone (at home and at work). But the eyes are also tired out by sewing, long driving, reading and other activities requiring intensive vision. The more time a person spends staring intently at something, especially at a monitor, the longer they complain of vision problems, which continue even after finishing work. Also, at times like autumn or winter, we switch on the lighting ever earlier. It's worth mentioning that unsuitable lighting also tires our eyes. The dry, heated air of rooms contributes to our eyes drying out. Our eyes are constantly moistened by the tear film, which protects the eyes from various infections. When a dry spot appears on the cornea, the eyes react immediately – they redden, become afraid of light and burn. Dry eyes are also indicated by itching, a constant feeling of tired eyes and heavy eyelids. One of the best ways not to complain of dry eyes is to rest and moisten the eyes regularly while working.
A TIP FOR RESTING THE EYES
1. Open your eyes wide and direct your gaze into the distance. Close your eyes and tense the eye muscles strongly. Then relax.
2. Without turning your head, direct your gaze to the right. Then turn your attention to the left.
3. Close your right eye and open your left wide. And vice versa.
4. Raise your index finger right in front of your nose and direct your gaze at it. Then direct your gaze into the distance.
5. Furrow your brow and look angrily. Then close your eyes and relax. If you feel your vision has worsened, your eyes constantly smart or water, or dryness appears – see an ophthalmologist without delay.
